At Ultimate Rod Racks, we don't believe in designing one mounting system and hoping it fits every boat.

Every boat manufacturer approaches their cockpit layout differently, and the solution that works perfectly on one brand isn't necessarily the best choice for another.

That's exactly why the Silverback Low Rider™ (SLR™) was developed.

Rather than forcing a universal rod rack to fit, we engineered the SLR™ mounting system specifically to complement the straight storage pockets, smaller tray upstands and tighter mounting clearances commonly found across many Extreme® models.

The result is a removable rod rack system that looks like it belongs on the boat.

Understanding the Extreme Layout

One of the things owners appreciate most about an Extreme boat is how efficiently the cockpit has been designed.

The side storage pockets are clean, functional and unobtrusive, helping maximise usable deck space while keeping the cockpit organised and easy to move around.

Unlike some boats with deeper or more irregular pocket designs, many Extreme models feature straight storage pockets with relatively small mounting upstands and limited clearance.

This creates a clean appearance, but it also leaves less room for many generic aftermarket rod racks to achieve an ideal installation.

Rather than treating this as a limitation, we treated it as a design opportunity.

Designed Around the Boat—Not Around the Rod Rack

Our goal wasn't simply to make a rod rack fit an Extreme.

Our goal was to create a rod rack that complemented the way an Extreme is designed.

That's why we developed the Silverback Low Rider™.

Working with our proprietary GunnelCore™ System, the SLR™ allows the rod rack to sit lower within the cockpit while making full use of the available mounting area.

The result is a cleaner installation that keeps rods and reels tucked neatly alongside the boat rather than projecting unnecessarily into valuable cockpit space.

Instead of competing with the boat's design, the rod rack becomes part of it.

Mechanical Friction Fit™ Designed for Extreme Boats

The Silverback Low Rider™ is built around our proprietary GunnelCore™ System.

By combining the natural geometry of the storage pocket with the correctly configured GunnelCore™ backframe and premium marine-grade EVA padding, the system creates a secure Mechanical Friction Fit™.

This engineered mounting method distributes pressure evenly across the available mounting surfaces, providing a firm, rattle-free installation without drilling or permanently modifying your boat.

The result is a rod rack that remains secure in rough conditions while still being fully removable whenever required.

It can be removed for cleaning, transferred between compatible boats using the appropriate backframe, or swapped from one side of the cockpit to the other when required.

For owners wanting an even more integrated appearance, optional powder-coated backframes are available to complement the painted interiors found on many modern Extreme boats.
