Kiwi Kraft Rod Rack Fitment Guide

One Rod Rack System. Boat-Specific Backframes.

Our modular GunnelCore™ System allows us to pair our rod racks with different backframes to match the way each boat is built.

For Kiwi Kraft boats with suitable side storage pockets, we use the Hybrid  Backframe. This configuration fits directly over the existing pocket without additional mounting brackets.

The adjustable backframe allows the rack to sit as low as practical towards the deck, keeping your rods supported and making efficient use of cockpit space.

How the Hybrid System Fits

The correctly sized 34mm backframe combines your storage pocket’s geometry with marine-grade EVA contact padding to create a secure Mechanical Friction Fit™.

The padding helps protect the boat’s finish and reduce unwanted movement. The rack remains removable for cleaning, storage or extra cockpit space.

No drilling. No extra mounting brackets. No permanent modifications.

This configuration excludes the dinghy range: 360 Dinghy, 360 Side Console, 405 Dinghy and 435 Dinghy.

Pocket layouts can vary between models and production years. Provide your exact model when ordering so we can confirm the fit.

Choosing Your Rack Size

Choose from 3, 4, 5 Standard, 5 XL, 7 and 10 rod options.

The best size depends on:

  • How many rods you want to store

  • The usable length of your side pocket

  • Clearance around seats and other fittings

  • The space needed for your rod and reel combinations

For heavier offshore or game-fishing setups, ask us about a suitable Game Series configuration.

Additional Storage and Protection

Rod Protection

Optional URR RPS™ accessories provide additional protection and stabilisation for specialist rod and reel setups.

Home Storage

Optional wall-mount brackets allow your rack to become an organised garage or shed storage solution. These accessories are separate from the boat mounting system.

Moving to Another Boat

In many cases, you can retain your rod rack and change the GunnelCore™ backframe to suit another compatible boat.

Trailer Travel

Ensure the rack and rods are correctly secured before travelling. Transport arrangements should suit the road conditions and remain at the skipper’s discretion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my Kiwi Kraft?

Nearly all models with suitable side storage pockets can be accommodated using the Hybrid or SLR backframe, excluding the dinghy range. But the Hybrid system allows for a lower adjustment We confirm fitment for your individual boat.

Do I need extra brackets or drilling?

No. This Hybrid configuration mounts directly to a suitable existing side pocket without extra brackets or drilling.

What information do you need?

Your exact boat model, a couple of clear side-pocket photos and the pocket measurements. We’ll advise if anything else is needed.

Can I remove the rack?

Yes. Remove it whenever you need more space, want to clean the boat or wish to store your gear elsewhere.
