Pocket depth, internal width and mounting angles vary between models, meaning there is no single mounting system that provides the best fit across the entire range.
That's why Ultimate Rod Racks are built around the modular GunnelCore™ System, allowing us to configure the correct mounting solution for your specific boat while maintaining the same proven mounting architecture.

To achieve the best possible fit, Ultimate Rod Racks uses two purpose-engineered GunnelCore™ mounting systems for Profile boats.
Silverback Low Rider (SLR) System
The Silverback Low Rider (SLR) has been purpose-engineered for Profile boats up to approximately 6.0 metres, where storage pockets are typically shallower and more compact.
To achieve the best possible fit on these models, Ultimate Rod Racks has developed a dedicated SLR backframe specifically for the lower-profile storage pockets found across many smaller Profile boats. This purpose-built backframe allows the rod rack to sit as low as practical within the pocket, without bottoming out, providing excellent rod support, stability and accessibility.
Built around the adjustable GunnelCore™ System, the SLR, together with the optional angled bracket where required, creates a secure Mechanical Friction Fit™ by combining the natural geometry of the storage pocket with the correctly sized backframe, mounting bracket and premium marine-grade EVA padding. This produces a firm, rattle-free installation without drilling or permanently modifying your boat.
The result is a lightweight, highly adaptable mounting system that suits a wide range of smaller Profile models while preserving valuable cockpit space and maintaining a clean, factory-style appearance.

Hybrid System
For larger Profile boats—including the popular 635 and larger models—the Hybrid System is designed to suit deeper and wider storage pockets that require additional support.
Using the same proven GunnelCore™ System architecture, the Hybrid System increases contact area and load distribution while maintaining the same secure Mechanical Friction Fit™.
Its larger backframe provides greater support for deeper pocket designs while allowing the rack height to be adjusted to achieve the lowest practical position for improved rod support, accessibility and stability.
This makes it the ideal solution for larger offshore boats carrying heavier tackle and more demanding fishing setups.

Mechanical Friction Fit™ Technology
Rather than relying on clamps or permanent fasteners, Ultimate Rod Racks use the geometry of your boat's storage pockets together with the correctly sized GunnelCore™ backframe and premium marine-grade EVA padding to create a secure Mechanical Friction Fit™.
This engineered mounting method distributes pressure evenly throughout the storage pocket, producing a firm, rattle-free installation without drilling or permanently modifying your boat.
The rack remains fully removable, allowing it to be swapped from one side of the boat to the other, transferred between compatible boats, or quickly removed and stored safely in the cabin whenever required.

Which mounting system does my Profile need?
Depending on your model and storage pocket design, we'll recommend either the SLR, SLR with optional Angled Brackets, or the Hybrid System to achieve the best possible fit.
Do I need to drill holes?
No. The GunnelCore™ System creates a secure Mechanical Friction Fit™ using your existing storage pockets, with no drilling or permanent modification required.
Can I transfer my rack to another boat?
In many cases, yes. One of the advantages of the GunnelCore™ System is that the backframe can often be changed to suit another compatible boat.
Will it suit Game Series rod racks?
Yes. Both the SLR and Hybrid systems can be configured with selected Game Series rod racks, making them suitable for everything from everyday fishing through to heavy offshore and game-fishing applications.
