If your boat has a high storage pocket with a shallow upstand (under 50mm), the rack may not have enough natural support. In these situations, the rack can be prone to movement or swing, especially in rough water or during trailering.

To resolve this, we offer a 160mm Support Bracket, designed to work with the SLR Frame and compatible Hybrid backframe setups where additional stabilisation is required.

The bracket slides up the back of the rack and uses the underside of the storage pocket as a support point, helping keep the rack straight, stable, and securely positioned.

When Is the Support Bracket Needed?

• Boats with high pockets and shallow upstands (under 50mm)

• Pocket designs that don't provide enough rear support on their own

• Installations where additional rigidity is required

This accessory is particularly useful on McLay models and most FC Boats, where pocket height or design can limit natural support.
